<idAbs>&lt;p&gt;This feature class is the 2026 update of environmentally sensitive areas in Rock County, Wisconsin and is intended to assist Staff in evaluating the suitability of Land Divisions and authorized under Rock County Code of Ordinances &lt;a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.co.rock.wi.us/departments/planning-economic-community-development/planning-zoning"&gt;Chapter 4.1 Land Divisions&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This ESA layer includes the following 10 layers:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Floodplain -&amp;nbsp;Lands identified as floodplain by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as delineated in accordance with the most current FEMA floodplain maps (5/3/2017) adopted by the Rock County Board of Supervisors.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Groundwater Protection Areas - Lands identified in the 1974 Soil Survey of Rock County as groundwater recharge areas.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Hydric Soils - Soils extracted (6/18/2026) from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wetlands Indicator data.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Kettles and Depressional Topography - Depressions greater than 3' deep and 400 sq feet in area identified through analysis from the DEM derived from April, 2020 LiDAR acquisition.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Natural Areas - Lands with a score of 5 or higher in the 2001 Rock County Natural Areas Survey.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Shallow Bedrock - Lands identified with bedrock within 20 " of the surface as identified in the USGS Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO). This layer was extracted June 2, 2026&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Shorelands - Lands identified within 75 feet or the ordinary high water mark of a surface water feature. This layer is took effect 10/01/2014.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Steep Slopes - Lands identified with slopes of 16% and greater as calculated using the DEM derived from April, 2020 LiDAR acquisition.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&amp;nbsp;Wetlands - Lands identified by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as wetlands. This layer was extracted June 2, 2026.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Wetland Buffers - Lands within a 50' buffer of the features extracted from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources data on June 2, 2026.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;</idAbs>
